I’m not quite… there… yet? Hopefully I’ll have something useful to say sometime soon.
It was shocking, and honestly, disappointing on a dramatic level. I was bored by most of it.
The Finchel stuff was actually good.
I’m a little disappointed there wasn’t Klaine angst.
Burt was amazing. That was the only part of the show that I felt was really excellent.
There was a lot of “sit down” happening, wasn’t there?
The scene between Will and Finn was funny. Finn is learning such bad lessons.
Quinn is slightly less evil than Sue. I think that’s true.
I had a wee rant on Tumblr. I’m not sure I stand behind it 100%, but it’s as close as I can get right now to any kind of sense.
During the hiatus, I had myself convinced that Glee was mostly the show I want it to be and the sections of fandom I interact with are typical. I was wrong. Thus I was disappointed by almost every episode of the later part of the season.
Sometimes I think the Glee I watch is an entirely different reality than the Glee the writers think they are producing. Is it possible that most of the people watching Glee think Mr. Shue is a wonderful teacher, Finchel is a model couple, and Rachel deserves NYADA more than Kurt? This is perhaps the same reality where ambitious students only apply to one college and get their acceptances around graduation.
Can I have the Klaine Brittana show from the second season back? Please?
I second all of this, and add a sadface.
I haven’t seen anyone anywhere talking about Kurt’s bug pin (though I don’t delve deeply into tumblr so it may be that they’re already all over this and I’m not a party to it). It looks like a roach to me, so I did a quick google search for ‘roach symbolism,’ this is what I found:
“Cockroach teaches the art of adaptability and ultimate survival instincts under any conditions making this creature an emotional and spiritual shape shifter. He will teach perseverance and tenacity along with going with the flow of events. Cockroach applies determination and fortitude to survive in any event. The wisdom of Cockroach teaches how to keep in touch with the world around you, shows how to strengthen vitality and quickness of movement, ability to discern when and how to move, and make use of available resources. Are you looking into the recesses of your spirit for answers? Are digging deep enough to find what is hidden? Are you adapting to recent circumstances as well as you could? It time for Cockroach to teach the art of adapting and finding what is hidden.”
Maybe. Personally, I’ve always found Will to be a sympathetic character even though he’s deeply flawed, and I know hundreds of people who feel the same way. I also know quite a few people who were happy with the way the NYADA story turned out. I thought Rachel deserved to get in, and I’m excited to see what’s next for Kurt. The weird thing about “Glee” fandom is that there are SO many sections of it that it’s impossible to gauge what the majority opinion is.
